Why the "Byzantine Generals"
The "Byzantine Generals" refers to a concept in computer science where systems are designed to continue to function, even in the face of know hostile actors. To me, that seemed sort of like life in general.
It never goes the way you want it, does it? But you keep plugging.
I wrote a book about blockchain technology and the Byzantine Generals problem is one of the problems that the technology can help solve. As I was writing the book - being on the hook for a certain number of pictures, I decided to create some tongue in cheek representations of some of the issues. The thought occurred to me, "What if the Byzantine Generals in the problem, were the ones literally narrating the situation?" Voila! A comic was born.
Oh not at first. I had to finish that book first.
Then I just made a few comics to amuse myself. But after I did that for a while I began to wonder, "What if this became a thing?"
And now it is.
The comic books that you see listed on the books page are annual compilations. I swear, they are getting better.
